CALI’s second regional meeting began on the afternoon of Thursday, July 15 at the Hotel Intercontinental in San José, Costa Rica. It was attended by Aspen Institute trustees, founder of the initiative in Central America, Fellows of all five CALI classes and special guests. The event opened with a dinner at the home of Jaime and Margarita Montealegre where David Rubenstein was interviewed by Jaime. CALI IV’s graduation was also held that night.

The Challenge of Leadership Seminar
From March 16 to March 20, 2010, the fifth class of Central America Leadership Iniciative Foundation, self-named, CA-LIbre, gathered at INCAE’s Walter Kissling Gam Campus in Alajuela, Costa Rica, for The Challenge of Leadership Seminar (the first seminar of the serie of four leadership seminars). This was a very heterogeneous group of twenty four Fellows in the business sector, civil society, government and non profit leaders between the ages of 30 and 45.

La periodista Yanancy Noguera Calderón, miembro de la cuarta clase de CALI, denominada calidad, actual directora de El Financiero, fue nombrada directora del periódico La Nación, quién asumirá el cargo a partir del próximo 27 de marzo.
Marisol Argueta de Barillas, Cali Fellow, was designated as Senior Director for Latin America – World Economic Forum. She is Vicepresident of Newlink Group. Ex-Salvadorean Secretary of State. A Salvadorean Lawyer and a Career Diplomat with a Post- Graduate Degree in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Oxford, England.
