He is currently Head of New Businesses for Pantaleon Sugar Holdings, responsible for all strategic and growth investments, mergers and acquisitions for the group, as well as for the energy and biofuels businesses. Was appointed President of the Electoral Board for the State of Guatemala by the Supreme Electoral Court (Tribunal Supremo Electoral) during the country’s recent general elections; was a pro-bono Advisor to the Minister of Education during the 2003-2007 period; vice-president and co-founder of Juventud en Acción (JUVEA) non-profit organization; treasurer and co-founder of Fundación Proyecto de Vida, non-profit organization promoting the GuateAmala movement; and, board member of Empresarios por la Educación. Received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA (1997); and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Harvard Business School, Boston, MA (2002).
