Ricardo J. TeránRicardo is the co*founder and Managing Director for Central America of Agora Partnerships, a non·profit social enterprise dedicated to fighting poverty by unleashing the potential of developing world small business entrepreneurs to help solve economic, social, and environmental challenges. In less than five years, Agora has helped more than 4000 entrepreneurs to start or grow their businesses while incorporating social and environmental responsibility activities into their companies. Agora has helped attract over U$2M in private capital to Nicaragua, launched a successful pilot micro venture capital fund, and is currently planning an expansion of its programs to Central America.

Ricardo is a fellow of the inaugural class of the Central American Leadership Initiative (CALI) of the Aspen Institute and has been honored with numerous other fellowships and awards, including at the Clinton Global Initiative, the Aspen Ideas Festival, the Summit Series, and the Confederacion Iberoamericana de Jovenes Empresarios in Spain; he was also a finalist for the John P. McNulty prize in 2009. In April 2010, Ricardo was invited as a panelist to Harvard Business School's XII Latin America Conference and has been selected as part of the 2010 class of the Yale World Fellows Program.

Ricardo is an entrepreneur, having started several companies, including an internet satellite company, a women's clothing franchise. and an alternative media company.

He holds an undergraduate degree in Marketing and Economics, and Masters of Science in Foreign Service, both from Georgetown University.

Ricardo lives in Managua, Nicaragua, with his wife, Isolda, and son Ricardo Antonio.
