Young Salvadorans have a new opportunity to develop their artistic skills and use them to help other teens discover their skills for singing and dancing.
The award winning television series "Glee" inspired former choir singer and CALI V Fellow, Claudia Cruz, to launch an innovative project the creation of glee clubs in El Salvador public schools, recruiting young talent and promoting artistic culture in the country.
Cruz presented her innovative project to Crisálida, an organization that works with the Glasswing International Volunteer Program, and sponsored the musical plan.

The voices and choreography of professionals thrilled the boys and girls in this school. "Don’t Stop Believing", "Inspiration," "Celebra la vida" (Celebrate Life) and "Color Esperanza," (The Color of Hope) were a few of the performed
"The goal is for young people to discover their artistic skills, while promoting values and discipline in them ... this will help them strengthen their self-esteem," said Claudia Cruz.
The seed was planted in the curiosity of students, who were particularly excited by the presence of singers Gustavo Lechuga and Daniela Kriete.
After the mini-concert and time for autographs, several teachers expressed their joy at seeing their student’s high interest in the iniciative.
"I am excited because this is a great effort, we have devoted much time and given it our all... today we are seeing the results of that effort," said Alex Carranza, a 22-year-old dancer and volunteer.
