Alajuela, May 25, 2007. On May 25th at 5:00 p.m., at the Walter Kissling Gam campus, in Alajuela. The official ceremony was carried out to hand over the command of INCAE.
Dr. Robert Artavia Loría, who occupied the position of Director of the Institution since 1999, and became the first graduate in holding this position, handed over his command on Friday to the Ecuadorian Arturo Condo, who held the position of Dean of Faculty and Masters Programs and Director of CLACDS/INCAE.
Among the main achievements accomplished during Dr. Artavia 8 years in INCAE are: the incorporation of Executive MBAs in Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala, positioning INCAE as the most international MBA of Latin America. In addition to the territorial expansion by means of activities of the Latin American Center for the Competitiveness and the Sustainable Development, which operates from Mexico to Argentina. During his mandate INCAE also became an important center of thought for sustainable development, responsibility and social entrepreneurialism and competitiveness.
Arturo Condo, is Doctor in Business Administration with an emphasis in enterprise strategy and international business from Harvard Business School. He also obtained a masters in Business Administration at INCAE where he graduated with High Distinction and with rank of Distinguished Scholar, title that has been granted only seven times in INCAE history. Previously Mr. Condo studied Electronic Engineering at Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral in Ecuador with a specialty in Information Systems and Biotechnology.
It is also important to point out that Arturo Condo is member of the inaugural CALI class.
At the ceremony attended several important business leaders of the region, as well as governmental figures of Costa Rica, nation where the event was carried out. Diplomatic members from Honduras El Salvador, Ecuador, Bolivia and Chile, as well as representing of international organisms and ONG´S also attended the ceremony.
CALI members that where in Costa Rica for this event attended Rita Marie Johnson’s Peace Army Way seminar, dedicated to promoting non-violent communication. The Peace Army Way is supported by the AED Foundation (Asociación de Empresarios de Costa Rica), whose President and Vice-President are both CALI members (Luis Javier Castro and Alexandra Kissling).
