Former General Manager for CORSA GROUP / PBL Tropical Plant, S.A. in Guatemala. Corsa Group is an agro export company of ornamental plants (specially Beaucarneas and Bromeliads). Today, Corsa Group has 70 people working in its production farm, where almost 60% of them are women.
The plant material is obtained from Indigenious plantations strategically located where, as part of the community development projects, they contribute with job opportunities to people that are affected by extreme poverty. In the year 2002 they obtained the prize "Jose Carlos Castillo" as the best export company of the year, granted by the ASOCIACION GREMIAL DE PRODUCTOS NO TRADICIONALES -AGEXPORT- (i.e. Non Traditional Products Association). In 2005, Jeronimo was mentioned in Guatemala's well known magazine "Estrategia y Negocios" as one of the 120 most innovating business men of the region, because of the development and worlwide commercialization of "air plants".Currently, he is involved in several indigenious poblations as an international advisor from the "Movimiento de Poblaciones Desarraigadas de la region Norte del Departamento del Quiché" which is a movement that helps recuperate and develop families that experienced the internal conflict in Guatemala, and as Joint Secretary for the "Convergencia Maya para la Gobernabilidad", a political and social group with activities in all indigenious poblations in the country. Also he is the current National Secretary of the current government political party UNIDAD NACIONAL DE LA ESPERANZA -UNE- for Mayan, Garifuna and Xinka Populations. He has a major in Business Administration from the Atlantic International University de Miami, FL. Also, speaks mayan language K´iche, english, italian and german.
